Working dog for Of Mice and Men

In the second canine casting call of the week, the producers of Of Mice and Men are looking for “Candy’s dog” when the show hits the King’s in April 2016.

There is no previous acting experience required for the dog, as it will be on a lead at all times and only appear onstage for five minutes.

The dog and owner will be required 6-9pm for the evening shows of the run (Tue 26-Sat 30 April) and 2-3.30pm for the matinees on Weds 27 and Sat 30 April 2016.

The role requires a dog which looks relatively elderly and has the appearance of a ‘working’ dog. He or she must have a calm temperament and most breeds and sizes will be considered.

The dog will be on stage for around five minutes in total, alongside Dudley Sutton who plays Candy, and on a lead at all times

The dog and its owner will get £300 for the week. Anyone interested in putting their dog forward for the role should apply immediately to Janice Taylor via email: janice@touringconsortium.com or phone her on: 0844 5880 848.
