Hidden Door Fest last call for volunteers
This year’s Hidden Door Festival, running May 26 to June 4 2017 at Leith Theatre, has put out a last call volunteers to help with a range of tasks at the event.
Deadline for application is this Friday March 17 with the first volunteer info session on Tuesday March 21. The festival is completely volunteer-run.
After two years in central Edinburgh, the festival is moving to Leith and taking over all corners of Leith Theatre. It is working with Leith Theatre Trust as part of the rejuvenation and rehabilitation of the theatre building.
Hidden Door Festival showcases theatre, cinema, spoken word, visual art and music by local and international artists and aims to create a platform showcasing the arts to a wide ranging audience. This year’s programme has a particularly strong theatre element.
According to Hidden Door: “We’re looking for friendly and happy faces to help us with a range of jobs and make this the most exciting Hidden Door yet. Perks include a free full-festival pass, food and drinks during shifts, meeting loads of lovely people, gaining valuable experience and skill, and being part of reviving an incredible venue.
The core team is looking for self-motivated team members to help with a range of duties before, during and after the festival. These include:
- Event stewarding and crowd control,
- Invigilating on site artwork,
- Box office,
- Help the tech team with sound and lighting,
