EUTC Easter youth drama workshop

Edinburgh University Theatre Company is holding an open workshop on Saturday 19 March 2016 for children who would like to take part in its Easter holiday Jungle Book project.

The company stages 40 productions a year. This Easter, over the week Monday 4 to Saturday 9 April, it is staging a project to provide 25 young people aged 8-15 with the opportunity to devise and act in their own production of Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book.

Jungle Book workshop bannerFive more youngsters – aged 11-15 – will also be offered the chance to learn about set building and teching a show, with full (supervised!) access to all of Bedlam’s lighting and sound equipment.

The project will take place between 9.30am and 5pm, running from Monday 4 to Friday 8 of April 2016. There will be a final rehearsal on the afternoon of Saturday 9 April with a performance that evening.

All youngsters who would like to take part in the Easter project are invited to a drama workshop between 10am and 12 noon on Saturday 19 March.

During this workshop all prospective participants and their parents will get a tour of the theatre. The young people will be given the opportunity to participate in a selection of drama games and the parents will be given further information on the project.

Cost of the whole project is £20. Children will need to provide their own lunch and snacks.
