Memories of Leith Theatre book launch

Citadel Arts Group and the Leith Theatre Trust’s book using living histories of Leith Theatre will be launched this Sunday, 22 October 2017, in a special event at Leith Theatre.

Lead by Citadel Arts, the two organisations have been collecting stories and old photographs of Leith Theatre, or Leith Town Hall as it was originally called.

Leith Theatre Auditorium in 1932.

The book will be launched in the Thomas Morton Hall of the Theatre on Sunday at 3pm. Citadel Arts will be holding its AGM at 2pm followed by refreshments and the book launch.

Leith Theatre Trust has offered to take groups round the actual theatre after that and Citadel Arts will be showing the film of  Whit Aboot the Wimin? by Jim Brown and directed by Mark Kydd, one of its memory-based shows from Stories Of The Sea, originally staged during Leith Festival in June (Reviewed here: ★★★★☆ Factual).

The AGM and launch are open events, although please contact the organisers through Citadel Arts’ facebook page (citadelartsgroup)to ensure enough space is arranged.
