Company win SCDA Eastern heat of one act fest

Leitheatre has won the SCDA’s eastern divisional finals of the 2016 one acts festival in Lochgelly and is through to the Scottish finals at the Church Hill Theatre.

The company were performing Michael Frayn’s Audience – one of two productions of the play in this round of the competition, the other being from the Aberdour Players.

Edinburgh company The Grads came third with its production of the little-performed JB Priestley one-act, The Rose and Crown. However this was not a high enough placing to get them through to the final.

Runner up at Lochgelly was Killin Drama Club with Into The Mist by Helen Wyngard. This will take the second eastern division place at the finals, on Thursday 21 – Saturday 23 April 2016.

Edinburgh’s St Serf’s Players were not placed with their production of  Erica And Me by Alan Robinson. The company had won the Edinburgh round of the competition. They did, however, win the awards for best comedy and the best moment in Theatre.

The Scottish final of the SCDA One Act Festival will take place over three nights and feature the winners and runners up from the four regional finals.
