Preview performance start on Thursday 5 December and the production opens fully on Tuesday 10 December. It is currently booked for 76 performances over the Christmas period through to Sunday 9 February 2020. Tickets are available here from the Playhouse Website.

A cast of more than 50 actors, singers and dancers, using masks, puppets and costumes bring the production to life.

The stunning simplicity of the production is the work of a team of designers which drew on diverse cultural influences to recreate the rich colours and vast expanses of the African savanna in this daring and inspiring reinvention of one of the most successful animated films of all time.

The production has also announced that it will hold a dedicated Relaxed Performance in Edinburgh on Sunday 26 January 2020 at 1:30pm. The Wed 11 Dec 7.30pm performance will be audio described, the Wed 15 Jan 7.30pm performance will be signed and the Wed 5 Feb 7.30pm performance will be captioned.
