If the snow goes on, will the show?

Eight of nine performances in Edinburgh’s theatres have been cancelled tonight, Wednesday 28 February, due to the snowy weather and adverse travel conditions.

NB: Details of Thursday’s cancellations are here: Snow Thursday.

As of 6pm Thursday 28 Feb, only the Edinburgh Studio Opera’s production of Dido & Aeneas and Gianni Schicchi at Assembly Roxy is still scheduled to go ahead at 7.30pm.

The Beast from the East has teeth, it would seem. We will keep this page updated with news as we learn it.

Our Country’s Good (Bedlam)
“Sadly due to these insane weather conditions the show can’t go on, and tonight’s performance of ‘Our Country’s Good’ has had to be cancelled.
“Everyone that has already bought a ticket for tonight will be contacted by Sparkseat as soon as is possible, and we have temporarily frozen ticket sales to allow time for this process.”

Dogfight (The Biscuit Factory)
“Unfortunately we have decided to cancel the show tonight in light of the weather warning and the advice of police Scotland on travel.”

Les Miserables (The Brunton)
“Due to adverse weather conditions tonight’s performance of Les Miserables and the ROH screening of A Winter’s Tale will be rescheduled. Box Office staff are contacting customers to transfer tickets from tonight’s performance of Les Miserables to  a new matinee performance at 2.30pm on Friday 2 March.”

Allan Stewart’s Big Big Variety Show (King’s Theatre)

“We have reviewed the weather conditions and due to the concerns of our customers and the severity of the Red weather warning, we are cancelling tonight’s performance of Allan Stewart’s Big, Big Variety. If you’d like to exchange to an alternative performance please call box office on 0131 529 6000. If you would like a refund, please take no action, and all customers will automatically be refunded tomorrow, if there is any problem with your refund Box Office will be in touch asap.”

Scottish Opera’s Flight (Festival Theatre)
“Due to adverse weather conditions & ongoing travel disruption #FLIGHT @edtheatres TOMORROW (1 Mar) has been CANCELLED. If you have tickets you can exchange them for the Sat 3 Mar performance by calling the @edtheatres box office anytime up to 6pm on Sat. Otherwise a full refund will automatically be issued. We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused and hope you can join us @ScottishOpera for #FLIGHT on Saturday.”
