Bean team for Jack
Cast announced for “King’s Panto” at Festival Theatre
Capital Theatres is returning to what it knows for the cast of Jack and the Beanstalk, as the panto plays its final stint at the Festival Theatre before returning to the refurbished King’s in 2026.
Clare Gray, Gail Watson and Amber Sylvia Edwards will be joining the already announced triumvirate of baddie Grant Stott as Fleshcreep, Allan Stewart as Dame May McTrot and Jordan Young in the silly billy role of Jack Trot.
Clare Gray returns to the team for the seventh year and will be donning the pantomime coo costume, as Pat the cow – or should that be the Cow, Pat, if you feel a more scatalogical comic strand is due.
Gray says she is pleased to be back with all of her panto family, on stage and behind the scenes. Carrying on the illustrious legacy of her father, Andy Gray, as “a prima ballerina and vocal extraordinaire…”
Bonnyrigg born and bred Gail Watson follows her role as Manipulata Fortuna in Cinderella to play the mythical Spirit of the Beans, guiding Jack on his sky-high climb.
magic beans
Following on from her panto-debut as Cinderella in last year’s production, Coatbridge-born Amber Sylvia Edwards returns to the Festival Theatre as the charming Princess Jill. Edwards was most recently seen on the Edinburgh stage in the cast of hit musical Wild Rose at the Lyceum.
Produced by Crossroads Pantomimes, the world’s biggest pantomime producer, Capital Theatres say: “this GIANT of a show is bursting with toe-tapping song and dance numbers, spectacular special effects, a pocketful of magic beans and laughs that will have you grinning all the way up the beanstalk!”
