EdFringe 2026
Two Halves
★★★☆☆ Relentless Naturalism
Oil and water. Rugby and football. Some things don’t mix well. If Muddrag Productions, creators of Two Halves at Studio at theSpaceTriplex are to be trusted, perhaps we should be adding men and women to that list of incompatible things.
A Clown’s Lullaby
★★★★☆ Melancholy
Crested Fools’ A Clown’s Lullaby at the Rotunda is a display that is as pensive as it is humorous, and exactly the sort of thing that people who think they don’t like clowns should go to see.
Cluedo
★★★★☆ Farcical
Cluedo, from Edinburgh Theatre Arts at St Ninian’s for the first two weeks of the Fringe, is a lively parody of the murder mystery genre, performed with pace and panache.
Glass Child
★★★★☆ Real
Glass Child at Summerhall for the first week of the Fringe inspires not only with its openness and its disarming integrity, but also with its spectacle.
Thunderstruck
★★★★☆ Electric
Thunderstruck in the Netherbow theatre of the Scottish Storytelling Centre is a charming tragicomic underdog story centering on Scotland’s loudest and most misunderstood musical windbag, the bagpipes.
Countdown
★★★☆☆ Evocative
Countdown from Theatre Paradok at theSpace Triplex, is an ensemble piece exploring the mounting pressure facing teaching staff, based on the real experiences of young teachers across the UK and Singapore.
Don’t Know? Have A Go!
★★★★☆ Masterfully crafted
Don’t Know? Have A Go! From Fast Snail Productions, beautifully and sensitively explores the power of memory in an emotionally taxing yet highly comedic production.
[Parent]ified
★★★★☆ Authentic
[Parent]ified at The Speakeasy is an underground and understated one woman show with great promise, written by Cosette Bolt and starring Rhona O’Donnell.
Chicago: Teen Edition
★★★★☆ Glorious
Captivate Theatre presents Chicago: Teen Edition, a marginally toned-down version of the vaudeville-style musical about celebrity culture in 1920s Chicago, featuring murderesses vying for public adoration.
