Edinburgh-made Dance at EdFringe 2025

Thanks largely to Dance Base – Scotland’s National Centre for Dance – there are enough Edinburgh dance companies at the Fringe to get their own listing for the first time.

The seven productions at Dance Base are augmented by some top pieces which represent the traditions of dancers from around the world who have made their home in Edinburgh.

DanceBase Studio 3 with dancer Alexandra Tsiapi. Pic Eoin Carey

We are particularly looking forward to Dance Ihayami with Dansa Rickshaw which brings the tunes of the late Martyn Bennett, weaving Bharatanatyam’s intricate footwork and expressive storytelling with the soul-stirring melodies of bagpipes and the lively pulse of traditional reels.

253 #MadeInEdinburgh shows

There are a total of 253 shows Made in Edinburgh at EdFringe this year – not including standup comedy and one-off talk shows.

In order to make things clearer, we have divided the listing up into eight parts. On this page you can find an alphabetical listing of productions by Edinburgh companies in the XXX sections of the programme.

Here are the links to the seven other listings pages:

We are also proud to work with EPAD to produce and publish their annual listing of shows “created, performed or produced by Edinburgh’s theatre professionals” which is here.
