Gilded Balloon adds EdFringe local discount
“Postcode Pals” £7.25 tix for Central Belt audiences
Gilded Balloon has joined the EdFringe venues offering flat-rate discounted tickets to local audiences at the start of this year’s Fringe.
Postcode Pals offers £7.25 tickets (£6 plus booking fee) to bookers from the Edinburgh, Kirkcaldy, Falkirk and Glasgow postcodes, for 141 productions staged at Gilded Balloon venues over the first five days of the Fringe, Wednesday 5 to Sunday 9 August 2026.
The offer opens on Monday 20 July at 10am and, subject to availability, runs through to Friday 31 July at 6pm. Bookers with an EH, FK, KY or G postcode in the billing address for their Gilded Balloon account can use the code PALS26 to gain the discount when booking through the Gilded Balloon website.
Karen and Katy Koren, Artistic Directors of Gilded Balloon, said: “As an Edinburgh-based venue, we want to encourage our neighbours to come to our shows. The Fringe is one of the most exciting times of the year, but we know that rising costs can make it harder for local people to take part.
saying thank you
“Postcode Pals is our way of saying thank you to the communities that support us year-round and making it easier for them to discover brilliant comedy, theatre, music, family shows and more.”
The four venues covered are the company’s new venue the Gilded Saloon, the returning venue Gilded Balloon Teviot, Gilded Balloon patter House at Adam House on Chambers St and the Gilded Balloon at the Museum.
The 141 shows include five theatre productions made by Edinburgh-based companies, including Ruaraidh Murray’s new Stockbridge-set drama Steak Out, the return of Half Trick’s consideration of what happened to Charlie’s fellow contestants in Waiting for Wonka and the writing debut of Tartan Tabletop’s Alex Bathe and Josh Aitken with Amadan and Mortair Kill the King.
