Theatre Royal ‘Room where it Happens’ for Xmas 2025
Tickets go on sale Thursday 12 Dec for the award-winning musical Hamilton, returning to Scotland for the end of 2025 when takes on a two month residency at Glasgow’s Theatre Royal in the run-up to Christmas.
Tickets go on sale here from 10am on Thursday 12 December 2024 for the run, which opens on Wednesday 29 October 2025 and continues to Saturday 27 December 2025. It plays Mon – Sat at 7.30pm, with matinees on Thursday and Saturday at 2.30pm. There are extra matinees on the 17th, 22nd and 23rd of December but no shows on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

Alexander Hamilton will be played by Marley Fenton, who won the 2024 Black British Theatre Award for his role as the Tin Man in the National tour of The Wizard of Oz. Billy Nevers, who played Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson when Hamilton was in Edinburgh, will play Aaron Burr. Casey Al-Shaqsy, seen in the 2022 tour of SIX joins the company to play Eliza Hamilton.
The musical tells the story of America’s Founding Father, Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington’s right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and helped shape the foundations of the America we know today.
With book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, the score blends hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B and Broadway to tell the story of America then – as told by America now. Also joining the company are Chasity Crisp as Angelica Schuyler, Ashley J. Daniels as Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson, Shak Mancel James as John Laurens/Philip Hamilton, Naomi Katiyo as Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds and Louis Maskell as King George.
Continuing in the production are KM Drew Boateng as Hercules Mulligan/James Madison and Akmed Junior Khemalai, now playing the role of George Washington.
Also continuing are Simeon Beckett, Jonathan Hermosa-Lopez, Richard Logun, Tamara Morgan, Antoine Murray-Straughan, Izzy Read, Harry Robinson, Phoebe Samuel-Gray, Samantha Shuma, Michael James Stewart, Jack Whitehead and Sian Yeo.
New to the production and completing the cast are Jonathan Andre, Melad Hamidi, Imogen Rose Hart, Bethany Kate, Jago Mottart, Patrick Munday, Chris Otim, Castell Parker, Eva Phillips, Sydney Spencer, Sylvie Stenson, Ethan Vijn, Lashane Williams and Ynez Williams.
