Chris McCausland to focus on comedy tour: Yonks

The Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour 2025 will go ahead without this years winner, Chris McCausland, who has some unfinished comedy business to attend to in the New Year.

The Strictly Tour will make one stop only in Scotland, playing the OVO Hydro in Glasgow for four performances over Friday 24 to Sunday 26 January 2028 (tickets). The 30 show tour plays a total of ten venues, from Birmingham on Friday 17 Jan to London on Sunday 9 February.

Responding to a question on X, McCausland told his followers: “I’m afraid I will not be able to do the Strictly tour.

“My own tour was meant to be on the road in September and a lot of dates were moved to Jan and Feb to accommodate doing #Strictly. It’s unfortunate as it’s been so much fun, but my own dates can’t be moved for a second time.”

The comedian’s Yonks stand-up tour, which went into a hiatus during Strictly, will out on the road for most of 2025 and well into 2026. Although he has added extra dates, including at the Queens Hall in Edinburgh, many are selling out fast, or only have single seats left.

Scottish dates

He will be in Scotland from Friday 19 September at the Gaiety in Ayr (tickets) through to the Alhambra in Dunfermline on Wednesday 24 (tickets). This includes two shows the Queen’s Hall in Edinburgh (Sat 20: tickets), and one at Glasgow’s Theatre Royal (Tue 23: tickets). He will also call at Perth Concert Hall (Sun 21: tickets) and make two journeys to Aberdeen Music Hall (Mon 22 & Thurs 25: tickets).

Strictly fans will still get to McCausland’s professional dance partner Dianne Buswell on the tour, who will be one of eight professional dancers without a celebrity partner.

McCausland’s three fellow celebrity finalists will also be on the tour with their dance partners. JB Gill will dance with both Amy Dowden, who had to pull out of the competition due to injury, and her replacement, Lauren Oakley; Tasha Ghouri with Aljaž Škorjanec; and Sarah Hadland with Vito Coppola.

The other couples performing will be Jamie Borthwick with Michelle Tsiakkas; Montell Douglas with Kai Widdrington; Wynne Evans with Katya Jones; and Shayne Ward with Nancy Xu. They will be joined on tour by professional dancers: Karen Hauer, Neil Jones, Nikita Kuzmin, Jowita Przystal plus Robbie Kmetoni and Jake Leigh.

All four of the regular judges will be on the ten venue, 30-show tour including, for the first time, Motsi Mabuse. The tour will be hosted by, BBC Two’s Strictly – It Takes Two’s Janette Manrara.
