At the Marcia Blaine School for Girls, junior-school teacher Miss Jean Brodie is – famously – in her prime.
Each year Brodie selects her ‘set’. The crème de la crème of Girls whom she will shape through art and politics, stories of sexual liberation and titillating glimpses of the women they could become. In return, she demands utter loyalty from them all.
David Harrower’s adaptation sharpens the knives of Spark’s extraordinary work, with a cast lead by Gayle Rankin (Glow, House of The Dragon) and directed by the NTS’s founding artistic director Vicky Featherstone. This visceral production promisers to look head on at our enduring moral fascination with such a beguiling and dangerous character.
20th anniversary season
The production will open for previews on Friday October 2, 2026 and will ten full dates at the Lyceum after press night on October 9. It will tour through to Saturday 7 November 2026.
The new production is part of the NTS’s 20th anniversary season which includes the already announced THE HIGH LIFE – The Musical, Still Living It! Due to play the Festival Theatre.

Stand & Deliver is from an idea conceived by Paul English and Frances Poet ands comes 45 years after the legendary occupation of the Lee Jeans factory in Greenock.
