Waiting for Elvis
★★★☆☆ Roadworthy
St Serf’s Players take a trip off in a new direction this week, with Waiting for Elvis, Philip Goulding’s road movie for the stage, which delivers modern comedy with a nicely historical edge.
They Came From Mars…
★★★☆☆ Enjoyable
They Came From Mars and Landed Outside the Farndale Avenue Church Hall In Time for the Townswomen’s Guild’s Coffee Morning, performed by the St Serf’s Players at Inverleith St Serf’s, is a ludicrous and charming piece, even if it does not always completely come off.
Odds, Broads and Frauds
★★★☆☆ Mixed
In Odds, Broads and Frauds, St Serf’s Players bring a trio of comedies to the stage at Inverleith which make for a somewhat disparate evening-out in terms of tone, but is certainly an entertaining one all round.
Wife After Death
★★★☆☆ Nuanced
St Serf’s Players return to the main stage with a nicely controlled production of Eric Chappell’s dark comedy, Wife After Death, at Inverleith St Serf’s Church Centre for three performances only.
