En la Ardiente Oscuridad
★★★★☆ Intriguing
En la Ardiente Oscuridad (In the Burning Darkness), from the Edinburgh University Spanish Society at the Bedlam, is a thoughtful and thought-provoking production featuring noteworthy performances.
Endgame
★★★★☆ Beautifully judged
The EUTC’s production of Endgame, at the Bedlam for three nights, is an exemplary production on almost every level. The direction and all of the performances are very fine indeed.
Antigone
★★☆☆☆ Ponderous
The Mythography Collective bring their production of the tragedy of Antigone back to the Fringe, with a festival-long run at the French Institute in Scotland.
Road
★★★★☆ Emotionally resonant
The EUTC production of Road at the Bedlam is far too long and distinctly baggy in places. It is also vibrant, accomplished and compelling.
The Boys in the Band
★★★★☆ Engaging
The EUTC’s engaging production of Mart Crowley’s 1968, New York-set gay drama, The Boys in the Band, is a well-observed affair which is at its best when it goes past the play’s innate waspishness to find its inner anger.
