Tickets for the National Theatre’s production of War Horse, which arrives at the Festival Theatre on January 22, have almost sold out.

The theatre box office is reporting that 96% of the just over 57,000 available seats have been booked, making it the the biggest grossing show at the Festival Theatre in its 20 year history.

Of the 31 performances in the 1839 seat auditorium, 19 are now officially sold out. Remaining tickets are best booked in person or by phone to the Box Office on 0131 529 6000.

Meanwhile there are only 60 tickets available online for The Brunton’s showing of War Horse, live streamed from London’s West End on Wednesday 27 February.

Chris Harper, the producer of War Horse told Æ: “We are delighted that audiences have embraced the Scottish premiere of War Horse at the Festival Theatre Edinburgh so wildly and the company is looking forward to bringing the show to this magnificent theatre.

“There will also be an opportunity to see a live cinema broadcast of War Horse in cinemas throughout Scotland on 27 February.”
