Covid hits Leitheatre’s Studio show

Positive testings for Covid in Leitheatre’s cast have caused it to abandon its production of Neil Simon’s The Odd Couple which had been due to play the Studio this week.

The production had been due to run at the Studio Theatre, Potterrow, for four performances from Wednesday 25 to Saturday 28 May 2022, running at  7.30pm Wednesday to Friday and at 2.30pm on Saturday.

The Odd Couple

The company made the announcement on Social Medial this week after what All Edinburgh Theatre understands were considerable and extensive attempts by the Leitheatre committee to find a way of still staging this, which should have been the company’s first full-length production post-lockdown.

Leitheatre members now look forward to welcoming audiences back to their Edinburgh Fringe production of the comedy Ladies Day by Amanda Whittington, which will run during August at Inverleith St Serf’s Church Centre, 1a Clark Road, EH5 3BD, with full dates and details to be announced.

Anyone with tickets for The Odd Couple should apply directly to the Studio Theatre for a refund. As a cancelled show, this should happen automatically for those who paid by card. If you paid by cash, voucher, cheque or have had the card you paid with recently expire you should contact the box office on 0131 529 6000 to arrange your refund.

NB: UPDATE EPT has offered seats to A Tomb With A View – which is on at the same time up at the Church Hill Theatre – to everyone with tickets for The Odd Couple. See separate story: A Room With A Couple, for details.
