Peter Pan Goes Wrong, at the Playhouse until Saturday, can – much like its title character – apparently never get old. Instead, it remains fresh, funny and great fun on almost every level.

What’s on Edinburgh’s stages this week?
There’s plenty going on this week. The debut play from Edinburgh’s Liam Moffat kicks off the new season of lunchtime theatre at the Traverse with JACK (tickets); there’s theatrical comedy at the Playhouse with Peter Pan Goes Wrong (tickets); and musical mystery at the Portobello Town Hall with MAMA’s 24 Hour Musical Challenge (tickets).

This week is all about the one-acts: the Scottish Community Drama Association’s competitive Festival of One Act Plays, in which SCDA members compete for prestige and trophies.
Two Sisters
★★★☆☆ Wistful
Two Sisters at the Lyceum until the beginning of March, is a touching and well-observed piece that is ultimately too diffuse.
Things I Know to be True
★★★★☆ Captivating
Things I Know to be True by the Australian writer, Andrew Bovell, staged by Edinburgh University Theatre Company at the Bedlam to Saturday, is a less well-known piece, although Higher Drama students may know it intimately.
The Wizard of Oz
★★★★☆ Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
We’ve been to see The Wizard, and oh what a Wizard it was. Yes, the Yellow Brick Road leads to Edinburgh Playhouse this week for a spectacular new production of The Wizard of Oz, the beloved 1939 musical movie based on L Frank Baum’s series about the wonderful land of Oz.
