★★★★☆ Salutary reminder
Make It Happen at the Festival Theatre has all of the trappings of an Event with a capital E. Even if it doesn’t quite justify that status, it is impressive.
2:22 A Ghost Story
★★★☆☆ Spooky
On tour after an award-winning (and still-current) London run, Danny Robins’s 2:22 A Ghost Story at the Festival Theatre is an entertaining horror story. It largely justifies the confidence displayed in putting the word ‘ghost’ right up there in the title.
Exorcist cast for Kings
Paul Nicholas for horror show:
Paul Nicholas, Sophie Ward and Ben Caplan will take leading roles in the stage adaptation of the notorious 1973 horror flick, The Exorcist, touring to the King’s in November 2019.
RENT
★★★☆☆ Lacks dirt:
There is plenty of energy and spectacle in Bruce Guthrie’s 20th anniversary production of Rent, at the Festival theatre until Saturday, but it is too careful and just too clean to fully persuade.
