Panto and ballet to close on Christmas Eve
The King’s panto Sleeping Beauty and Scottish Ballet’s The Nutcracker at the Festival Theatre will close on Christmas Eve, cancelling all remaining performances, as Nicola Sturgeon limits theatre audiences to 200 and re-imposes one metre social distancing.

Four venues cancel shows

All remaining performances of White Christmas at the Edinburgh Playhouse have been cancelled, as of Monday 20 December 2021 due to “issues surrounding Covid 19”.

£955K for Ed Theatres
Second wave of Covid funds announced:
Six Edinburgh organisations have received a total of £955,698 as part of the £5m Performing Arts Venue Relief Fund, the second round of government support, administered by Creative Scotland and announced on Thursday 24 September 2020.
