Amy’s View
★★★☆☆ Slow-moving
The Makars’ production of Amy’s View, at the Royal Scots Club for the Fringe’s last week, is well staged and acted but never really ignites.
Plaza Suite
★★★☆☆ Erratic comedy:
The Edinburgh Makars’ production of Neil Simon’s Plaza Suite has considerable comic appeal, even if it takes some time to materialise.
Oedipus & Hands Across the Sea
★★★★☆ Double Dose:
Congratulations to which ever member of the Edinburgh Makars thought of staging Sophocles’ bloody Oedipus in a seemingly incongruous double bill with a Noel Coward one-act farce. Truth is, the incongruity works.
Review – Come Blow Your Horn
✭✭✭✩✩ Enjoyable retro entertainment
The Edinburgh Makars provide a solid evening’s entertainment and some big laughs in their production of Neil Simon’s Come Blow Your Horn at Murrayfield Parish Church Centre.
Æ Review – Agatha Christie’s The Hollow
★★☆☆☆
There is nothing sleepy about the Hollow to which the Angkatells have retired in this country house weekend murder mystery from the Makars, which is at Adam House until Saturday.
