The Masks of Oscar Wilde, from Matchmaker Productions at Greenside @ Riddles Court, is an informative account of Wilde’s life. The play may not be the best structured work imaginable, but this production makes the most of it under difficult circumstances.

Sandcastles, Steve McMahon’s warm and thoughtful new play is brought to life by a charismatic cast, directed by Kolbrún Björt Sigfúsdóttir, in this Brite Theatre production at the Assembly Rooms.

Theatre Paradok, the Edinburgh theatre company that is “experimental without being exclusive” is bringing nine new pieces of experimental theatre to their 5pm slot at La Belle Angel for this year’s fringe.
Birds of Passage in the Half Light by Kat Woods

Birds of Passage in the Half Light, a one-hander by Kat Woods and performed by Fiona McGeown, deals with trauma and darkness. The presentation is uneven at times, but it draws the audience in.
The Bush

The Bush, Alice Mary Cooper’s one-hander at Summerhall, tells of domestic and political life in 1970s Australia, detailing the accidental birth of the environmental movement in a way that is diverting and informative.
The Grandmothers Grimm
★★★★☆ Sinister comedy
Some Kind of Theatre bring their touring production of The Grandmothers Grimm back to the Fringe for a two week run at Riddle’s Court. Originally conceived for the Edinburgh Horror Festival in 2017, the piece has since toured the UK.
