Edinburgh based theatre collective The Counterminers explore female reproductive rights in Hersterectomy, their new devised piece, performing somewhat appropriately in a venue that is reminiscent of a womb.

The EUTC make a decent fist of Shakers, at the Bedlam all week, playing to the broad comedy of the John Godber and Jane Thornton’s script but finding their best in its moments of pathos.
Translations

Edinburgh University Theatre Company bring a welcome clarity to Translations, at the Bedlam to Saturday, in a production which gets inside the many shades of meaning to Brian Friel’s script.
Julius Caesar
★★★☆☆ Uneven
Edinburgh University Shakespeare Company’s Julius Caesar, in the Teviot Debating Hall, is as unpredictable as it is ambitious. It is by turn sublime and ridiculous, well thought out at times and inexplicable at others.
