Maggie & Me

Maggie & Me

★★★☆☆ Resonant but unwieldy

The National Theatre of Scotland’s Maggie & Me, touring to the Traverse, is an odd beast indeed. It has a great deal to say about both the personal and the political, but some of it is lost in an over-ambitious, wildly inconsistent production.

Twelfth Night

Twelfth Night

★★★★☆ Kaleidoscopic:

Shifting emotions are filtered through autumnal sunlight in the Lyceum’s Twelfth Night, with as much defiant sadness on view as happy resolution.

Kill Johnny Glendenning

Kill Johnny Glendenning

✭✭✭✩✩ Blood with no guts
Vigorous and energetic, the Lyceum’s world premiere of Kill Johnny Glendenning provides lashings of blood and humour in a production which is well performed and directed, but in the end is less than the sum of its parts.
