Review – Jerusalem
★★★★★ Brave and timely:
There’s a rich, dense texture to the Grads Scottish premiere of Jerusalem, at the Adam House Theatre until Saturday. It has a mythic feel inspired by Blake’s hymn Jerusalem, the text of which frames the piece as if it were being stalked by Gog and Magog.
Review: Carousel
★★★☆☆ Emotional
Unfettered tragedy, lumps in the throat and, yes, big fat man-tears are the order of the evening in the Bohemians’ production of Carousel at the Church Hill Theatre all this week.
Theatre Review – Closer
★★☆☆☆ Challenging:
The Grads have brought a long-range focus to their brave and challenging new production of Patrick Marber’s Closer, which is up at the Church Hill Theatre until Saturday.
