The Pride, the debut production by Different Works at the Assembly Roxy, is very good at showing how the repressive urge for conformity destroys everyone, not just those who are seen as ‘different’.
Guys and Dolls
★★★★☆ Distinctive:
By focussing on the music, and getting it pretty much spot on, Edinburgh Music Theatre succeed in bringing out the theatre in Guys and Dolls at the King’s all week until Saturday.
Ronnie and Jonny: Friends Disunited
★★☆☆☆ Disjointed
There is an interesting premise behind Ronnie and Jonny, the comic play from Steve Griffin and Keith Muddiman at 48 Below underneath the Phoenix in Broughton Street. However, its story is not sufficiently worked out, and it is only intermittently funny.
