Tim Delap
The Constant Wife
★★★★☆ Enormously entertaining
The RSC’ production of The Constant Wife, by Laura Wade based on the comedy by W Somerset Maugham at the Festival Theatre until Saturday as part of a UK tour, establishes its tone immediately.
Jane Eyre
★★★★☆ Pure theatre:
Resolutely theatrical and visually arresting, the version of Jane Eyre at the Festival Theatre retains the flavour of that well-loved book while succeeding admirably on its own terms.
Regeneration
★★★☆☆ Timely adaptation:
Flawed but utterly human, the touring production of Regeneration at the King’s all week tries to do too much, but is extremely valuable nonetheless.
Pat Barker’s Regeneration tours to Kings
The world premiere tour of the stage adaptation of Pat Barker’s Booker-nominated novel, Regeneration, will arrive at the Edinburgh King’s at the end of September for a week-long stay.
