I’ll Be Seeing You
★★★☆☆ One-note
The Pitlochry premiere of I’ll Be Seeing You by Martin Sherman is sprinkled with stardust, but the glitter is applied unevenly to a production that infuriates as much as it satisfies.
The Bodyguard
★★★☆☆ Power packed
The Bodyguard, the power ballad-packed musical based on the smash hit film and flaunting its Whitney Houston hits, launches into the Playhouse this week with, quite literally, a bang.
Life of Pi
★★★★☆ Visually spectacular
Considerable theatrical magic can be found in the touring production of Life of Pi at the Festival Theatre. If the staging sometimes overwhelms the storytelling, it is still a production of real impact.
Shrek The Musical
★★★☆☆ Breezy:
Big, bright and brash, there are plenty of laughs in the new touring production of Shrek the Musical, which is debuting at the Playhouse until the first week of the new year.
The Bodyguard
★★★★☆ Timeless power:
Half gig, half musical and all theatre, The Bodyguard bursts into town for a fortnight’s residency at the Playhouse, riding shotgun on the back of the blockbuster movie.
