BABS, the latest Play, Pie and a Pint at the Traverse, is an endearing work; funny, frothy and deceptively serious, but occasionally pulling in too many directions at once.

What’s on Edinburgh’s stages this week.
There is plenty going on this week, with two big musicals returning to the Playhouse and the Festival theatres, a five star show at the Lyceum and two crackers of amateur theatre at the Church Hill and the Central Hall Tollcross.

Tickets have gone on sale for The Drifters Girl, the jukebox musical based on the story and music of the American vocal group The Drifters and their manager Faye Treadwell, which will tour to the Edinburgh Playhouse in May 2024.

Playhouse dates for Olivier Award-winning revival
The Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre’s reimagined production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s Jesus Christ Superstar will visit Edinburgh’s Playhouse in February 2024 as part of a major UK tour.
