A Man’s A Man
★★★★☆ Moving and fun:
Robert Burns’ poetry has an inherent melodic quality of its own and staging a full-length musical on his life and work seems like a natural progression.

The Merry Wives of Windsor/Holyrood
★★★☆☆ Shakespeare transported:
Let’s get one thing straight right away, EGTG’s show at the Royal Scots Club is not an expose of the fun and frolics of the female members of the Scottish parliament.

Pool (no water)
★★★★☆ Cruel but hilarious:
The Edinburgh Graduate Theatre Group’s late evening show at the Royal Scots Club, for week one of the Fringe only, is a decidedly over-18s only production of Pool (no water).

Sunset
★★★★☆ Moving portrayal of a marriage:
This one woman show at theSpace @ Niddry Street until Saturday only, is a thoroughly recognisable portrait of an older woman reflecting on the emotional roller coaster that constitutes her long marriage.
