The Brunton’s youth company, BYT, is looking for new participants for their 12 to 15 year-old group, and will be holding auditions on March 11.

The Brunton Youth Theatre Stages 2 & 3 classes invite anyone in the age range with an interest and enthusiasm for acting to register for the auditions, which will take place in the Brunton rehearsal room from 6-8pm.

According to BYT: “This is a chance to join a performance focused group, developing a range of theatrical skills and techniques. In addition, this group has the opportunity to perform onstage at The Brunton.”

Recent productions from BYT have included a production of Animal Farm this February and collaborating with Vision Mechanics for the haunting, site-specific work Dark Wood at At Yellowcraig, Dirleton last October.

The audition will take the form of a workshop session in which those auditioning will take part in a series of different scenes and activities. No preparation is required, just a willingness to participate, but booking a place is essential.

The BYT Stage 2/3 group is held every Wednesday evening during term time from 6pm until 8pm at The Brunton.

Those wishing to attend the audition should phone 0131 665 9900 or email youththeatre@eastlothian.gov.uk to register.
