The Horrible Histories mob stage Horrible Christmas

Horrible Christmas is the story of how Christmas came to be what it is today, told in full Horrible Histories manner – with all the gory bits left in.

Neal Foster, the actor/manager of co-producers Birmingham Stage Company, says: “As you’d expect from Horrible Histories, it’s not a traditional pantomime, but a journey through the story of Christmas in the company of the season’s most fabulous characters.

“It’s the perfect story for families this winter, as one young boy battles to save Christmas for the world, in this hilarious, joyous and moving celebration.”

clear sight-lines

In traditional Horrible Histories fashion the show goes from one alliterative period to the next, touching on Victorian villains, Medieval monks, Puritan parties and Tudor treats – in the company of Charles Dickens, Oliver Cromwell, King Henry VIII and St Nicholas. And, of course, Rudolph.

Co-producers Car Park Theatre add that a specialist traffic management team will be on site at the venue, saying: “all vehicles will be parked two metres apart, with clear sight-lines to the entertainment in size order, from smaller cars at the front to bigger vehicles at the rear.

“Customers are advised to stay in their vehicles whilst on-site, leaving only to use toilet facilities and to purchase food and drinks from our on-site vendor, where strict social-distancing measures will be in place.”
