Dolly musical & Jimmy Carr set Summer dates
Tickets now on sale for Here You Come Again
The new Dolly Parton jukebox musical, Here You Come Again has added the Edinburgh Playhouse to its 2024 tour ahead of a West End run, playing Monday 23 to Saturday 27 July 2024 (tickets).
Jimmy Carr has also added Edinburgh to his 2024 tour, with his Laughs Funny show hitting the Playhouse for three nights at the end of the first week of the Fringe, Thurs 8 to Sat 10 August 2024 (tickets from Fri 15 March).

Here You Come Again has enjoyed several successful regional tours across the United States. It has now been adapted for a UK audience by playwright and writer for TV, Jonathan Harvey (Gimme, Gimme, Gimme and Coronation Street).
It was originally written by multi-Emmy award-winning comedy and songwriter Bruce Vilanch with its director Gabriel Barre and actress Tricia Paoluccio, who reprises her role as Dolly for the UK tour.
Including such iconic songs as Jolene, 9 to 5, Islands in the Stream, I Will Always Love You, and the title track, Here You Come Again, the show tells the story of a diehard Dolly fan and down-and-out comedian who is at the end of the road. He’s split up with his partner, he’s staying at his mum and dad’s house and he’s lost his job.
When he puts on the Here You Come Again album, his poster of Dolly comes to life. With her wit, humour and charm, she teaches him a whole lot about life, love and how to pull yourself up by your bootstraps…even if your bootstraps don’t have rhinestones.
fresh approach
Director Gabriel Barre said: “Setting it in the UK with a brilliant new British actor playing the lead role of Kevin, along with a creative UK design team, gives us a chance to take a fresh approach to a story that features all of Dolly’s biggest hits, along with her wit and wisdom, which the world needs today, more than ever.
“She will be gloriously brought to life by the American actor, Tricia Paoluccio, who has been stunning audiences everywhere, embodying the spirit, humour, and heart that have made Dolly an enduring icon.”
After opening at the Leeds Playhouse in May, Here You Come Again is booked through to December, including a week at the Glasgow King’s, Tue 1 – Sat 5 October 2024 (tickets).
