FCT call out for print designer

Forth Children’s Theatre is looking for a new volunteer to take over the role of designing all the company’s print.

The company stages two musical productions a year, one at the fringe and one at Easter, and has become renowned for the quality of its shows.

FCT chair, Mark Gorman says that during his eight years as chair he has worked with two designers, one a parent and one an alumni, but that neither are able to carry on supporting the company in this way.

He is now looking for someone who can design and create artwork for posters, flyers, badges and programmes for the volunteer-run company. FCT receives no public subsidy and prides itself that it makes no charge to the children who take part in its productions.

Gorman told Æ: “We use quality printers (J Thomson Colour Printers) so the design work is seen in the best light.

“Sadly, neither of our designers are able to continue in their role and so I’m looking for a designer who’d like to ‘give a little back’ to the community of Edinburgh.

“In return you’ll get a whole load of work, for no money, but hopefully a chance to create great work. We are easy clients I promise you.”

Anyone interested in helping out should contact Mark Gorman on markgorman@btopenworld.com.
