The Bohemians announce 2018 show

The Bohemians Lyric Opera Company has announced that its 2018 show will be Footloose – the Musical, which will be staged at the King’s Theatre during March.

Making the announcement on Facebook, the company put a call out for participants who should, it says, keep the weekends of 10/11 and 17/18 of June 2017 free.

Footloose the Musical is based on the 1984 film directed by Herbert Ross – itself loosely based on real events.

When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, Ren is prepared for the adjustment to his new high school. What he isn’t prepared for are the local laws – including a ban on Ren’s favourite pastime: dancing.

Anyone wanting to register an interest in the 2018 production should email:

The company’s 2017 production, running from Wednesday 15 to Saturday 18 March, is 9 to 5: The Musical. Based on the original movie from 20th century fox, this comic story of friendship and revenge is outrageous, thought-provoking, and even a little romantic.
