The volunteer-run production company behind Edinburgh’s Gang Show has been nominated in two categories in the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce Business Awards 2014.

The company, Edinburgh Gang Show Productions Limited, has been nominated for both the creative marketing and the innovation in business awards. The awards are in their third year and are made in nine different categories.

Dorothy McKinney, Chair of the EGSPL Board said: “I am absolutely delighted for a business like EGSPL which is managed solely by volunteers to be nominated for these awards.”

This innovation in busines award is for “a business which has shown a high degree of creativity and dynamism in successfully developing innovative products.” EGSPL is up against Claymore Security Solutions, Lothian Buses and the Scottish Media Academy.

The creative marketing award is for an innovative marketing campaign which “will have been clearly expressed and articulated and will have effectively improved business performance”. In this category EGSPL goes head to head with Law at work, Forth Ports and the Edinburgh International Film Festival.

EGSPL manages the business side of Edinburgh Gang Show which is the biggest annual theatrical show starring young people in the UK. With a cast of over 250 young people from Scouting and Girlguiding aged between 8 and 25 years, the long-established show plays to a total audience of over 6,000 people every November at the King’s Theatre Edinburgh.
