Urban Fox take Home Town Tour

Urban Fox has announced a short tour for it’s Edinburgh fringe hit Heartlands to the home towns of its company before a short stay at London’s King’s Head Theatre as part of its #Festival45.

Keeping the original cast of Joe Johnson and Clare Ross, Heartlands opens this week’s Hothouse season at the Edinburgh Traverse on Tuesday 10 November 2015 before hitting the road.

Amy Gilmartin told Æ: “After being invited to be part of of #Festival45 at the King’s Head Theatre and Hothouse at the Traverse, we decided to take the show to some of our home towns in the run up – so we’re headed to Glasgow, Kilmarnock and Sanquhar with the production.

“The company is very much Edinburgh based and we love that our productions preview at the Fringe, however it is really exciting to be taken the production out to more audiences.”

The show finds successful PR Charlie holed up in a long‐abandoned family home, brooding on his ruined reputation. With him is famous-but-frustrated actress Mari, desperate to salvage her career.

In Dave Fargnoli’s twisting, clever script – with only their memories and a bottle of whisky to work with – they try to work out where it all went wrong, and where they’re meant to go from here.

Reviewing the show at this year’s Edinburgh fringe, Susan Lowes said: “The result is a such a warm and engaging piece of theatre that it’s hard not to empathise and relate to the characters. Johnson and Ross play Charlie and Mari with a live intimate chemistry which they extend to the audience, inviting them into their hut in the Highlands.”
