Regular Thursday show for pop-up arts fest

Edinburgh’s Hidden Door has announced a new web series, the Hidden Door Live Show, which will live stream on Thursday nights, alternating between Facebook and Instagram.

The new show from Edinburgh’s pop-up multi-art form festival will feature interviews and performances from the worlds of live music, art, spoken word, theatre, dance and film, with each week being a different mix.

To get themselves into the swing of things, Hidden Door is kicking off with a couple of pilot shows on Thursdays 21 and 28 May 2020.

The first show, Survival Kit, will be on Thursday 21 May at 7pm on Facebook and will include “some of the best up-and-coming artists Scotland has to offer!” according to the organisers.

To watch, head over to the Hidden Door Facebook Event page and join the show there, to hear discussion and performances from spoken word artist Iona Lee, visual artists Jill Boualaxai and Kristina Chan, and music from Tupper Werewolf and Mt. Doubt.

The second show on Thursday 28 will be slightly different as Hidden Door’s Instagram account hosts Women and the Pandemic – Hidden Door Live Show Takeover.

Hidden Door announced in April that it was going to have to postpone this year’s planned October event until May 2021, although they hope to still put on some kind of short event this Autumn, but not in the anticipated new venue.

The organisers promised at the time: “We are also looking at ways in which we can provide something positive in the coming weeks and months, creating new online content to bring artists, performers and audience together, and developing projects to support the creatives who have taken such a massive blow through all this.”

Join them on Thursday evenings as they come good on their promise.
