Rocky Horror Show tours to Playhouse in Jan 2025
Tickets are now on sale (click here) for the Rocky Horror Show touring to the Edinburgh Playhouse in January 2025 with Jason Donovan reprising his role as Frank’n’Furter.
Donovan will be returning to the role of Frank for the first time in the UK for over 25 years after a successful stint in Australia. Back by popular demand, the show is set to play the Edinburgh Playhouse Mon 20 – Sat 25 Jan.

The Neighbours icon, pop legend and full-on musical theatre star said: “I am thrilled to dive into the exhilarating role of Frank’n’Furter with a fantastic new cast and Timewarp with audiences throughout the UK.
“We promise to deliver the freshest Rocky EVER, that audiences will not forget. So, buckle up, as the show promises to be a wild and wicked ride!”
The Rocky Horror Show tells the story of Brad and his fiancée Janet, two squeaky clean college kids who meet Dr Frank’n’Furter by chance when their car breaks down outside his house whilst on their way to visit their favourite college professor.
It’s an OTT science-fiction, horror, comedy adventure they’ll never forget, with fun, frolics, frocks and frivolity, bursting with timeless songs and outrageous outfits.
Sweet Transvestite
The long-running tour is directed by Christopher Luscombe and features all of the famous musical numbers which have made The Rocky Horror Show such a huge hit since opening at the Royal Court’s Theatre Upstairs in 1973 with an audience of just 63 people.
Full casting for the tour has yet to be announced. But who ever it is, they will certainly be joining Donovan in performing Sweet Transvestite, Science Fiction/Double Feature, Dammit Janet and floor-filler The Time-Warp, for an audience who continue to know all the words, dress up for the occasion and provide a string of outrageous and continuously evolving talk-back lines.
