Second audition date for American Idiot
Shoogly Peg has announced a second audition date for its 2017 summer intensive programme, leading up to performances of American Idiot at the Edinburgh King’s.
Due to popular demand, the company will be holding a second set of auditions on Sunday 23 April 2017, this time at St Thomas of Aquins High School on Chalmers Street.

The programme is set to run Monday 3 to Thursday 13 July 2017, with performances on Weds 12 and Thurs 13. There will also be three weekend rehearsals leading up to the show in the months of April, May and June.
Auditionees are asked to prepare a one-to-two minute section of a musical theatre song in a style similar to American Idiot (or indeed one from the show itself), as well as a monologue “in an American Dialect”, lasting no longer than two minutes.
They will need to supply their own backing track, which can be on CD, phone, ipad, ipod, tablet or laptop, as there will not be a pianist available at the audition. The audition process will be completed with a basic movement class.
The production is for over-14 year-olds only, due to the mature nature of the content of Green Day’s show. Further details of the show and company are here: American Idiots Wanted!.

The audition is completely free and open to all. However, a fee will apply to all those cast in American Idiot of £200 for the full two weeks of rehearsals and shows.
