Casting call for Easter concert and Summer show
The Beyond Broadway Experience is staging two courses in 2019 – leading up to a concert at the Usher Hall in the Easter holidays and performances of Legally Blonde the Musical at the King’s in July.
BBE’s two week courses are directed at youngsters who want the fun of taking part in a professionally staged production or who want to work on their performance skills.
Following the success of its three summer schools, the team at the Beyond Broadway Experience have decided to add Broadway Bound, a dance and musical theatre extravaganza to take place in the Easter break.
The July production of Legally Blonde the Musical will follow the successful formula of previous BBE shows The Wizard of Oz, Bring it On and Fame The Musical.
Auditions for Broadway Bound will take place this Sunday 30 September 2018. While auditions for Legally Blonde are due for Sunday 18 November 2018. Both audition days will be held at Dancebase on the Grassmarket and will attract an audition fee of £10.
Broadway Bound will be a musical theatre concert “inspired by Broadway and the Big Apple”, featuring songs from previous BBE shows and current Broadway smash hits including Dear Evan Hansen, Come from Away, Something Rotten, Waitress, Kinky Boots, Matilda and Aladdin.
The concert will be performed on Friday 19 April 2019 at the Usher Hall, with the course leading up to it taking place over the previous two weeks from Saturday 6 April.
Nikki Snelson from the original Broadway cast of Legally Blonde will by helping BBE’s resident creative team “produce something extraordinary for cast and audiences alike” in the summer show.
The course leading up to the show will run from Saturday 6 July to Wednesday 17 July 2019, with five performances at the King’s Theatre on Thursday 18 to Saturday 20 July.
Both courses are run on a commercial basis and attract a fee. Participants should be aged between 13 and 25 on Monday 1 July 2019.
