Peter Pan to play Doody, Tink as Rizzo, in UK tour of Grease

Kieran Lynch and Rebecca Stenhouse, who starred as Peter Pan and Tink in the 2023/24 panto at the Festival theatre, have been announced as Doody and Rizzo in the UK tour of Grease, coming to the Playhouse in June 2024, with tickets already on sale here.

The two Edinburgh-born actors are joined by Adam Davidson, who also hails from Edinburgh, as Johnny Casino. They are part of a 24-strong cast for the production which is also playing the King’s Theatre, Glasgow in June (tickets) and His Majesty’s Theatre, Aberdeen in July (tickets). The tour opens in Bromley, this April.

“Better start learning the guitar!” quipped Lynch, announcing the news to his followers on Social Media. His character, Doody, is the youngest of the Burger Palace Boys and dreams of being a rock’n’roll star. He shows off his prowess with the song Those Magic Changes.

Rebecca Stenhouse, who studied at Edinburgh’s MGA Academy and was recently on the UK tour of Legally Blonde, will play Betty Rizzo, the cynical leader of the Pink Ladies who refuses to show her feelings, as she tells Sandy in There Are Worse Things I Could Do.

The final Edinburgh-born actor on the tour is Adam Davidson, who has recently been in Mary Poppins in the West End. He will be playing Johnny Casino, the lead singer of The Gamblers, who play at the Rydell High dance, opening Act II with Shakin’ at the High School Hop.

This UK tour of Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey’s iconic musical is directed by Nikolai Foster and choreographed by Arlene Phillips. It has been seen by over half a million people in its time at the Dominion Theatre in London’s West End.

The show follows leather-clad greaser Danny and girl-next-door Sandy who are unexpectedly reunited after a whirlwind summer romance when she transfers to Rydell High for senior year. But can they survive the trials and tribulations of teenage life and find true love once more?
