PPP: Casablanca, The Gin Joint Cut
★★★★★ Played it – again!
It is easy to see why the A Play, A Pie and A Pint punters voted the easygoing charm of Casablanca, The Gin Joint Cut as their favourite piece of lunchtime theatre since PPP was founded by the late David MacLennan in 2004.

PPP: Margaret Saves Scotland
★★☆☆☆ Sugary:
Margaret Saves Scotland, the latest offering in the Play, A Pie and A Pint season, marks the return of Val McDermid to the stage. Anyone expecting a taut and bloody crime thriller, however, should be warned that this is a low-key piece, wistful and almost wilfully slight.

Sunset Song
✭✭✭✩✩ Faithful
Well put together and extremely well acted, Sell a Door and Beacon Arts Centre’s adaptation of Sunset Song is a neat piece of theatre but fails in the end to do justice to its source.
