Theatre Fest is GO
Proposals now sought for May 2022 outdoor festival
The StagEHd Festival, a new theatre festival for amateur and grassroots theatre companies based in an EH postcode is to take place in the Ross Bandstand in Princes Street Gardens in May 2022.
Catch 22
★★★★☆ Catchy:
As with so many great books, Catch-22 seems to have defied dramatic representation over the years. And while EGTG’s version at the Biscuit Factory does not necessarily kill off such an idea, is still an extremely impressive production.
EGTG Catch their 22
Pace, Panto and Pathos promised at Biscuit Factory:
Stage adaptations of literature have been pouring off Edinburgh’s stages in the last wee while, but amateur company EGTG has gone to the top of the tree marked Iconic.
Arrivals
★★★☆☆ Initially intriguing:
Arrivals, by Twelve Twelve and New Celts at theSpace on the Mile, is an odd beast. It is probably fair to describe Dougal Thomson’s script as two plays; one that works very well, and one that is less successful.
The Lark
★★★★☆ Fiery:
There is fire in the belly of EGTG’s telling of The Lark – Jean Anouilh’s take on the story of Joan of Arc – at Bellfield in Portobello to Saturday.
EGTG’s 2019 shows
EGTG announce ambitious 2019 programme:
The Edinburgh Graduate Theatre Group has announced that it will stage four full length productions and two one-acts in 2019, as well as running a programme of improvised theatre during the year.
You Remind Me Of You
★★★★☆ You’re welcome:
There is a fierce theatrical intelligence at work in Arkle’s production of You Remind Me Of You at the Royal Scots Club.
Deadly Dungeon Murder Mystery
★★★☆☆ Spookily Good:
Spooky and frightening, Deadly Dungeon Murder Mystery is a fun interactive show at the Edinburgh Dungeon this Fringe.
Arkle Fringe Auditions
Arkle issue open call for EdFringe shows:
Edinburgh amateur company Arkle theatre has put out an open call to its auditions for its two 2018 EdFringe shows, which will run for week two of the fringe at the Royal Scots Club.
