£10 On-the-day tix for Cap Theatres

Capital Theatres has launched a new £10 on-the-day discounted ticket scheme to its theatres for those aged 25 and under, which will be bookable online for the first time.

Those aged 16 to 25 will be able to sign up to buy £10 tickets online, subject to availability, to most performances. They will also be available for in-person sales at the box office. Those aged 10 to 15 will need to purchase their tickets in person at the box office.

On-the-day £10 tickets will be now available online to 16 to 25 year-olds.

Proof of age documents include Young Scot Card, Passport, Student ID (if proof of age is included) and Driver’s License. A photo of this ID should be emailed to bookings@capitaltheatres.com or taken into the box office.

Capital Theatres will then send out an email confirming that you are eligible for the scheme from your 16th to your 26th birthday.

To book tickets, young audience members will need to log into their account with Capital Theatres on the day the show and choose a seat. They ticket will be discounted to £10.

To buy a ticket in person at the box office, or for those aged between 11 and 16, take your ID to the box office on the day of the performance to purchase your £10 ticket. To check availability for a show on the day, call box office on 0131 529 6000 (open 11am to 3pm, Mon to Sat).

Capital Theatres emphasise that dementia friendly programming is a core part its ethos, from monthly music making sessions for people living with dementia and their carers, to regular performances from Edinburgh’s dementia inclusive Forget Me Notes choir.

There is a quarterly magazine DementiArts, which features a comprehensive calendar of dementia friendly activities across Edinburgh and the Lothians.

Capital Theatres also has a wide-ranging engagement programme, with a variety of accessible performances. These include schools matinees, relaxed performances, touch tours, post-show talks, and British Sign Language, audio described and captioned performances. Copies of the brochure are also provided in braille, large print or on an audio CD on request.
