First new show for 2018 is B2 Productions
Young Edinburgh company B2 Productions will have Edinburgh’s first opening production of 2018 with a concert production showcasing some of its current and past performers.
Artistic director Claire Stewart has assembled a cast of 30 for the five performances at Inverleith St Serf’s Church Centre, which will take place over four nights from Wednesday 3 to Saturday 6 January 2018.
While Stewart and musical director Kerry-Anne Dougan are keeping the programme as a surprise, Stewart admits to it being varied and containing “lots of well known and heart breaking classics”.
She told Æ: “We decided to do a concert to follow up from our sold out October production of Little Shop of Horrors. We also have a lot of our cast home for Christmas which means we have a chance to feature some stunning voices.”
These include some well known names such as ex-FCT members Caitlyn Vanbeck who went on to star in X-Factor and Scottish Alternative Music Award nominee Gus Harrower. One cast member is flying back from California, another is currently training at RADA and another at the Central School of Speech and Drama.
Stewart added: “There are a lot of ex FCT cast members in it but also a lot of new people. We have worked hard to expand since our first production in January of this year – although it feels like it has been going much longer!
“Most of the cast are people we have worked with for years in Forth Children’s Theatre.
“B2 Productions Ltd was set up by myself and Kerry-Anne Dougan after a twenty year partnership of Directing/Musical Directing FCT. We are very ambitious for the future and so excited with big plans ahead!”
