Rebecca Herd launches Heartlands EP
An EP of the original music written by Ayrshire-based singer-songwriter Rebecca Herd for Heartlands is being released on Thursday 20 August, with a live launch event at Sweet venues.
Heartlands by Dave Fargnoli is being staged in the fringe by Edinburgh-based grassroots company Urban Fox. In her Æ review, Susan Lowes described it as a “warm and intimate insight into modern life and modern relationships”.

To celebrate the release, 17 year-old Rebecca will be performing some of the EP on Apex International’s Terrace at 11.30am on Thursday 20 August.
Currently studying Music Performance at the Academy of Music and Sound, Rebecca has been writing and perform original compositions since the age of 13. She has supported Del Amitri frontman Justin Currie and Ayrshire-based singer-songwrighter Little Fire. She has also performed at local festivals.
The Heartlands EP will be her second release after her own self-released EP in December 2014.
Heartlands is Urban Fox Theatre’s third Fringe production, following successful runs with Globophobia in 2013 and Safeword in 2014. Globophobia was revived to open the space which became Discover 21, while Safeword was later presented as part of the Traverse Theatre’s Hothouse programme in October 2014.
The play is once again directed by Amy Gilmartin, and is currently running at Sweet Grassmarket until August 30, staring Clare Ross and Joe Johnson.
