What’s on Edinburgh’s Stages this week…

After a month of fringe and celebration of Edinburgh’s own theatre makers it’s time to get back to the big stage with the arrival of Take That musical, Greatest Days, at the Playhouse.

And it is the only show in town this week, as the city takes its collective breath after having over one and half thousand theatre shows to choose from every night – double that if you include the comedy.

Greatest Days is the new name for the smash hit show The Band, that was at the Playhouse in 2018 (★★★★★ Popstastic) and which broke box office records as it toured around the United Kingdom from 2017 – 2019.

The musical features 15 Take That songs in a book by Tim Firth which follows a group of five best friends in the 1990’s who are obsessed with their favourite boy band. The girls reunite more than 20 years later with a plan to see their heartthrobs one last time in what could be one of the Greatest Days of their lives.

The production features Jennifer Ellison – Brookside’s Emily Shadwick – who joined the tour last week in Glasgow as Rachel; along with Olivia Hallett, who is performing the role of Young Rachel.
