On Stage Mon 17 – Sun 23 October 2022
Listings for week ending Sunday 23 October 2022:
Musicals, of a kind, dominate Edinburgh’s stages this week, with the national tour of the Bob Dylan musical Girl from the North Country coming to the Playhouse and the return of Pride and Prejudice* (*sort of) returning to the Lyceum for an extended stay.
There are also two welcome opportunities to see Downs With Love with a performance at the Brunton on Saturday if the performance at the Studio on Wednesday is sold out.
Half term holiday theatre is at the Playhouse, with matinee performances of the adaptation of The Tiger Who Came to Tea.
There is plenty of comedy – of some very different types – on stage as well. The Trocks are back two performances only at the Festival Theatre and there is a comedy Shakespeare mashup Doing Shakespeare at Assembly.
The hottest comedy ticket, however, is for an all-too brief run of the darkest of dark comedy of all: Rapture Theatre’s touring production of The Beauty Queen of Leenane to the Traverse.
